Kurambon Muscat Bailey A Wine

Kurambon

Inspired by Bourgogne wines (owner studied in Beaune/Bourgogne region), this wine is the best wine to showcase the unique flavor of Muscat Bailey A. This wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks for three weeks and slightly saignée-d, a method where some juice is pulled out of the tank at the beginning of fermentation—this concentrates its Muscat Bailey A flavors, it is then aged in oak barrels for just six months, to keep the spotlight on its fruitiness. A wine with depth in flavor that gives off the fresh scent of berries without being sugary, with contrasting, chewy acidity, accented with slight bitterness.

Kurambon was founded in 1913. It prides itself in their close relationships with local grape farms. They put emphasis on wines made with Koshu grapes, a grape varietal that goes back a 1000 years. Instead of wines mechanically made, their aim is to create more natural wines where the grapes' transformation to wine is gently aided by wine makers.
