Go ahead, just this once: let's judge a sake by its bottle. What does this gorgeous teardrop bottle says about Heavensake? It says this sake may not be traditional, and that’s the point; Heavensake aims to position their sakes as a fresh, chic luxury instead of a foreign curiosity.
Heavensake, like its products, is a marriage between French artistry and Japanese craftsmanship. Régis Camus, cellar master of Piper-Heidsieck since 1994 who now heads their Rare Champagne line, eight-time winner of the Sparkling Winemaker of the Year award–making him arguably the Don of the Champagne world–works hand in hand with several eminent Japanese sake breweries and their Tojis. The sake brewery Tojis provide their proprietary sakes and Camus uses his blending style honed throughout his years as a Champagne maker to create the first Franco-Japanese sakes.
